The Honorable Cerron Cade

As Delaware’s secretary of labor, Cerron Cade leads efforts to promote a talented and diverse workforce while protecting the rights of workers throughout the state.

Prior to his role at the Delaware Department of Labor, Cade served as acting director of the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) where he managed the Department’s dissolution and the subsequent creation of its successor, the Division of Small Business. Cade served as the division’s first director, leading state initiatives to attract businesses, tourists, and well-paying jobs to Delaware.

Cade attended Delaware State University where he received a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration. Previously, Cade served as a legislative aide for the Delaware House of Representatives, deputy county director to U.S. Senator Tom Carper, projects director to former-Congressman John Carney, and legislative liaison to former-Governor Jack Markell.

Cerron lives in Wilmington with his wife, Kasmira, and two daughters, Jonnie and Toni.
